Weakley Gatlinburg Vacation
Over Memorial Day weekend, we went with Richard's family to Gatlinburg. It was so hot! Richard, Benjamin, and I picked Jamie up in Cookeville on Friday night on the way up. We got there late so we slept in Saturday morning. We went to the outlet mall, Apple Barn, grocery shopping, and then back to the cabin for swimming and a delicious meal cooked by Jamie.
The rest of the Weakleys arrived early Sunday morning. After sleeping in, we hiked up Grotto falls and had a picnic. We headed back to the cabin for dinner and then walked downtown Gatlinburg.
While downtown, we got our Old Time picture taken and watching Benjamin dance to the bluegrass music.
Monday, all the boys and Mrs. Pam went hiking up Mt. Leconte. Diana, Jamie and I took Benjamin to the aquarium. I must say that I think we had the best time! Benjamin loved the fish! He was so excited about everything there. We went back to the cabin to meet the others and had an early dinner to head to Dollywood for a little bit.
Tuesday, we stayed at Dollywood all day. It was hot, but there was plenty of water rides to keep us cool. Benjamin hated the carousel and ferris wheel, but loved the duck ride and river battle water ride. That night we had a wonderful dinner at the Park Grille.
On our last day, we had brunch at the famous Pancake Pantry and shopped downtown Gatlinburg. It was a fun trip with the Weakleys. It was mine and Richard's first vacation with his family. Looking forward to the next trip!
